On Wednesday, Bob Holmes, the one-man volleyball team, added two games to his more than 19,000 volleyball games played across the United States.

Holmes, who has taken on and beaten the likes of players from the Washington Redskins, Baltimore Orioles, Pittsburgh Steelers and Buffalo Bills, on Wednesday put his volleyball skills on display against the members of the Ludington Police Department and Foster Elementary School teachers.

“The Beat The Odds story — I wanted to stop bullying, drugs and alcohol. … I’ve lived in the gym now for 30 years, and now I average 40 to 60 events and one week I had 80-some games. One day, I played 27 games. I had an all-nighter. Basically, I stay busy on the court because I want to help the children.”
