Dez Bryant is still a very good football player. That much is obvious to anyone who has watched a single Dallas Cowboys game in 2017. His size still presents major problems to opposing defenses. His hands are still as sure as ever. He’s a critical part of a great offense.

But is he still the same player who averaged over 90 catches per season from 2012-14? Unfortunately, it now seems as though that portion of Bryant’s career is over.

Bryant has now caught 21 passes for 264 yards this season. That averages out to 12.6 yards per reception, his lowest total since his rookie season in 2010. His longest play of the season so far is only 36 yards. In every other season of his career, he has at least one play of 46 yards or longer.
