Kalvin Phillips appeared to give the middle finger to angry West Ham fans after being branded “useless” as he boarded the team bus at St James’ Park.

The video, which appeared on social media, shows Phillips, carrying a small bag in one hand, walking on to the team coach after a costly away defeat and when he makes eye contact with a group of supporters off camera he is verbally abused.

Stepping on to the coach, the 28-year-old appears to look back and defiantly raises his middle finger while the angry fans shout “get out” back at him.

Phillips had come on as a substitute in the second half of West Ham’s 4-3 defeat, with his side leading 3-1.
