BMW OEM indicator stalks large rubber washers (pair). BMW OEM clock + voltmeter sub-loom. Our fairing is very sturdy, thick (typically between 4 to 6mm), it will not flex or shake at speed. Very well finished with a fairly smooth surface inside (we apply a final GRP surface mat for a better finish) with out usual attention to details so no air bubbles, cracks, frayed edges etc.
Minimal preparation work is required prior to painting. Our fairing follows very closely the lines of the original fairing unlike most replicas on the market. All the parts are pre-drilled, pre-trimmed and pre-mated so very little preparation work is required to fit apart from painting.We've adopted the original inner fairing fastening set up, albeit using nylon lugs with a captive M6 brass nut, therefore much stronger than the original fairing, a refined solution rarely adopted due to the complexity and extra labour required. Originally the screen was riveted to the fairing/dash using a special setting tool, requiring specific (and expensive) brass bushes and plastic rivets.
Although quite neat, it was not a practical solution if the screen or dash needed to be removed for replacement or fairing repair. We've replaced these items with our own stainless steel M4 csk bolts and some very neat and elegant s/s conical cup washers plus penny washers to spread the load, rubber washers to reduce vibrations and abrasions and nyloc nuts for a secure screen fitting.
We include an extra fastener to keep as a spare in case you loose any of the fiddly items. This kit is the most complete you will find and does includes all the essential parts to fit this fairing to an original R90S, /6 or the later /7 Series. It also includes a BMW OEM electrical sub-loom in order to fit the original BMW/Motometer voltmeter and clock (as fitted to the later RS, RT and CS models).
If required, we can supply alternative clock and voltmeter to suit this application. Where possible, fittings have been upgraded to stainless steel to minimise the risk of corrosion and ease of maintenance such as the upper fitting kit, fasteners and indicator stalks.
Outstanding period look, sturdiness, quality and durability. This kit will fit the BMW R90S, R100S, R100 CS and all /6 & /7 Series (73-84) fitted with the original 36mm fork stanchions and low rise handlebar. 1 - This fairing requires the use of low rise handlebars, as fitted to the R90S.
If fitted to a post 1981 bike or fitted with a bar mounted brake master cylinder, further adjustments may be required for it to clear the fairing. Similar kit available for the Monolever (post 1985) models. We can also supply very nice replicas of the original clamp on stem plastic indicators, suitable for this fairing.
